Wah I was reading through my posts, just realised I did not have anything that mentioned anything about my chinese new year experience. Ohwell. So here's it. Oh I was reading my old posts. Haha. I wonder why did I write those stuffs. Like so abstract. I don't even understand what am I trying to say liao. What this friend that friend which friend. Okok. I got a new plan, to make my blog more obvious. Hurhurzzzz.
Ohyah, supposed to write about new year. Hm. Ok lah. Like visited my grandma's place for get together dinner. Wah as how many people had told me and I had told so many people: "I missed my grandma's food!" Was very very regretted. Because should have gone and learnt from her when I was free-er. Not like now when I have 1001 things to memorise. Okok, so its set liao, m2 holz I'll go and learn something from my grandma. Like my mother says, you don't learn, then nobody learn liao, you think your that friend can cook meh? Then I ask my lao ma, which friend? Then she says ... .
So on day 1 went to my same grandma's house for lunch and bai nian. Then went to my mother's sis aka my auntie's house to bai nian and for dinner. Ok lah. Watch some tv. Talk about this year next year and the future years. Talk about giving MC. Look at shuai-ges mei-nvs. Watch some televisions. Eat somethings. Wah I realised my cousins lah, niece lah, nephews all grow up to become shuai-ges and mei-nvs lorh. Then all I was thinking is that "what happened to me?!?!" I must be some guai tai in the family. Wah I think they can all go join some superstar lorh.
Oh the other day I was thinking. After being drunken-ed by friend Y's father, I realised my liquor amount is really cannot make it. Of course, for most of the time, I can geng abit here and there. And of course can fake lah. But then, I think should train up abit also. Just imagine your wedding you have 10 tables (ok I don't have much friends, so just 10 tables, but I don't know about you, maybe 100?) to yam seng with, then you after 10 tables, sure peng4 one lorh. Sure puke and die. Haha. Thats why, should train up. Or, train your friend. Haha.
When you listen to songs, do you listen more to the melody, or to the lyrics. I am a lyrics person and I suck in music, that I must admit. Thats why I am always so afraid to sing in front of a huge audience. Because as Jacky Wu said: 长得丑不是错,出来吓人就是你不对了. So, if cannot sing, then don't 献丑了. So I was actually very scared that I sing very lousily during friend Y's birthday party. And I am so scared that I am scared to go and ask other people how I fared. But at least got 歌神 there, so at least should pass lah. He 100%, I 1%, overall average 50.5%. Ok round up 51% pass! Huat ah! Haha. Sorry 歌神, you must had never had such lousy marks. I pull down average one. Ohyah. I forgot to say 谢谢 when we finish singing, wah how 丢脸 was that. Really 没有家教 liao lorh like that. Pui! Huat ah! Haha. Oh yah, back to the original topic. I can't really decipher music. But these days at least I know how to differentiate a sad song from a happy song, and an uplifting song from a depressed song. Although most of the melody's meaning will naturally align itself to what I am feeling now. Maybe abit better, I know which song to choose according to what I am feeling. Usually its 曹格's girlfriend. Haha.
Start a new paragraph to continue with what I wanted to say. So in essence, I don't really understand tunes and melodies. Im a lyrics person. Im particularly fond of chinese lyrics. I still remember that night fright night dry run was with friend C and friend Z, eh sorry, not friend ZC. Friend Z was telling us about how he was impressed with the chinese lyrics, how deep it goes and how touching it can be. Ohwell. Of course I agree to him. I wonder what friend C felt. But then, it established in friend C that whenever a chinese song is needed, I will be asked. In any case, since i doubt friend C will read my blog, "wah how cooooooooooooooooool can it get!!!". Cool seah. Haha niao niao. Nevermind. Continue. Anyway, I do agree that music is boundary-less. Music is the same for everyone. A sad song won't be a sad song for another tribe in Alaska. Ah du will always have husky voice in both Alaska and Singapore. But, lyrics can be also. Especially for chinese lyrics. Like I can still remember how touch I was when I first hear 发如雪. Its like, there's so much meaning in the lyrics, which I don't think the melody can provide. I mean, a melody can tell a story. Lyrics can also tell a story. But to me, good lyrics can tell so many stories, can link so many emotions together, just because life and love, should not be just about the sad part, should not be just about the happy part. When you get old enough, you will get to see that, happy and sad are just different sides of the same event, its just how you see it. For the same thing, it can be a happifying thing now, like asking someone out for a date. But you won't know, that it might become a sad thing. Its just how you see it. Nobody can dictate whether its happy or sad. Nobody ever told you that something is happy or sad. Its you who is going to decide is it happy or sad. Its you who is going to decide whether its logical or 疯狂. Had nobody ever told you? 最浪漫的事也就是最疯狂的事, 但是在有爱的人心中, 一切自然是再浪漫不过。 后来后来,才发觉那是多么的疯狂。
Opps next paragraph to link back to original topic. Of course, I agree that the melody, can also tell many many stories and maybe much more. If you listen to enough, if you are deep enough, if you are sensitive enough, if you are cultured enough. I am just saying that, at least for the chinese lyrics, if you are enough, some of them, can. Of course, I still have so much things to learn. 水能载舟也能煮粥喂饱了生命。 I am very impressed by whoever who wrote that. There's so much backgrunds to be linked to, so much memories to recall, and at the same time, so much imaginations of the never seen, at the same time, play with words, amazing, one whole industy of 测字 comes from playing with words. Thats why, my kid shall learn more chinese than me. 是否能再多爱一天能再多看一眼伤会少一点.
Ohyah, some friends ask me about changing the blogskin. Hm.
